Thank you for your support

The Fundraising Department make a special thank you to all our supporters in 2009.

"We have been able to continue making a real difference to the lives of so many people"

Dear Hospice supporters,

On behalf of St Nicholas Hospice Care, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the whole community of West Suffolk and Thetford for their wonderful support over the past year, as we celebrated our 25th birthday.

It has been a very difficult year, with the recession meaning we have had to reassess how best to provide our vital services. But with the help of local people and businesses alike, we have been able to continue making a real difference to the lives of so many people coping with a life-limiting, terminal illness and offer support to their families not only in the Hospice itself but increasingly in people’s homes.

But the most memorable for me has to be the Girls Night Out – a moonlight walk in September – which saw over 350 pyjama-clad ladies take on an 11-mile route, raising over £60,000 in the process!

Businesses large and small have done whatever they can to continue their support during these difficult economic times, including signing up to our 25 Club, sponsoring events and taking part in a Jail & Bail event in Haverhill. We are very grateful to them all.

"We really do need the whole community to continue supporting us"

This coming year shows no signs of being any easier for us. We still have to raise £10,000 every day from voluntary donations to keep all of our services running so we really do need the whole community to continue supporting us. If you haven’t before, maybe this year will be the year that you’ll get involved and organise a fundraising event on our behalf?

With ongoing support we can confidently plan for the next 25 years, offering dedicated care and comfort whenever it is needed.

Thank you.
