From SATURDAY 6 NOVEMBER 2010 to SATURDAY 13 NOVEMBER 2010. Spend five days trekking through incredible desert scenery. Set off from the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Witness breathtaking views across the Jordan Valley to the domes and spires of Jerusalem. Encounter sand dunes, oases, waterfalls, old caves and temples. Camp out under the stars. Finish at the famous Rose Red City of Petra, a dramatic 2,000-year-old city hewn out of sandstone cliffs.
DAY 1: Fly from London to Amman. Transfer to Dead Sea.
DAY 2: In the morning, float in Dead Sea. After lunch, warm-up trek to camp. 2-3 hrs

DAY 3: Through small wadis (riverbeds) with views of Edom Mountains. 7-8 hrs.
DAY 4: South along jeep track to Bedouin village. Past acacia trees to camp. 5-6 hrs.
DAY 5: Undulating terrain. Beautiful scenery all the way to Little Petra. 8 hrs.
DAY 6: Spectacular trek into Petra finishing at the famous Treasury. 8 hrs.
DAY 7: Free day to explore Petra. Celebratory meal.
