St Nicholas Hospice was started by and for the community of
West Suffolk and Thetford. The support of the local community is essential to the continued excellence of our work and to allow us to provide our services completely free to those who need them.
At St Nicholas Hospice we run (and assist our supporters in running) a number of fundraising events within the local community. Sponsored walks, marathons, ten-pin bowling, fetes, foreign treks, skydiving, street collections, open gardens, coffee mornings, dinner dances – the range is endless!
There are many ways you can support the Hospice:
- organise a fundraising event
- take part in a Challenge - skydiving, a foreign trek, a marathon
- be sponsored for a task - dieting, giving up smoking
- sponsor someone else
- support a fundraising event – the Hospice Fete, dinner dance, quiz night
- have a home collecting box
- join the St Nicholas Hospice Lottery
- support the St Nicholas Hospice shops by donating or buying goods
- volunteer to help with fundraising either by hosting an event or helping out for a couple of hours at an event

Community Groups
Local community groups such as churches, Rotary Clubs, scouts and guides, Round Table and Lions Groups are some of our keenest supporters.
Every year fundraising within our Community raises an amazing amount of money and the number of people wanting to support our work continues to grow. Without their financial assistance St Nicholas Hospice could not continue to provide all of our services free to those who need our help.
If you are a member of a local group and would like to help St Nicholas Hospice please contact us for more information. We are happy to come and talk to any group. To tell them more about the work of the Hospice and how we are helping people in the local community. Speakers are available at most times and can talk to any age group.
We welcome visits by groups to St Nicholas Hospice by arrangement, whilst respecting the privacy and sensibilities of our patients and their families.
