Trusts and other grant making institutions remain an important source of income for St Nicholas Hospice Care. We currently enjoy the support of a number of charitable trusts, with whom we work in partnership to provide facilities and care for our patients and their families. The funding we receive from our Trust supporters is often crucial. It enables us to maintain our building and to expand and develop the services we provide for our patients and their families.
The core need of St Nicholas Hospice Care is, of course, revenue funding - day to day running costs. The majority of this money pays for our clinical and support staff who offer the care and comfort required by our patients. In addition charitable trusts and foundations have supported work as far ranging as:
- £2,500 from St Edmundsbury Borough Council to help fund our core costs
- Support from the Big Lottery Fund to provide palliative care in the community
- Purchasing a new height-adjustable bed for our Sylvan Ward
- Replacing two specialist baths on our in-patient unit
- Running bereavement support groups for families
We have a wide range of areas that can be supported and we are always keen to talk to new trusts about the opportunities that exist at St Nicholas Hospice Care. If you require further information, or if you have any connections with Trusts we would be delighted to hear from you.
