Free monthly legal surgery
There may be times when you need the advice of a solicitor so we provide a Legal Surgery for patients, families and carers. This service is available on the last Wednesday of each month between 12.00 noon and 1.00 pm. The Legal Surgery is operated by eighteen local solicitors on a rota basis. You can make an appointment by telephoning Margaret Lee, on 01284 755000 or you can turn up for an informal chat. If you are unable to travel to the Hospice the solicitor can talk to you by phone if we have your contact details in advance.
A room is set aside for private consultation so your conversation with the solicitor will remain confidential and the Hospice staff will not be party to anything discussed. St Nicholas Hospice Care is not responsible for the advice given or for decisions you choose to make. If your concern requires further legal advice or intervention you will be able to make your own decision as to how to engage with a legal firm. You will not be obliged to continue with the solicitor you meet at the Legal Surgery. Please check the solicitor’s consultation fees before seeking further advice.
We have a list of supportive solicitors who will come into the hospice or visit in your home but we do not recommend any individual company. Again please check the solicitor’s consultation fees before seeking advice.
