Dying doesn't have to be a conversation killer.

Dying Awareness

St Nicholas Hospice Care is supporting a national campaign encouraging everyone to make their wishes surrounding their own death known to their loved ones.

It can be as simple as telling your partner whether you want to be buried or cremated, whether you want to be an organ donor, what type of music you want at your funeral, who you want to be there (and who you don’t!), what type of end of life care you want and where you want your possessions to go.

It also involves telling people things you may want them to know before you die.

Dying is the only certainty in life. The earlier you talk about your dying wishes the easier practically and emotionally it is for everyone.

We are a charity providing a special service for people with terminal and life threatening illnesses and their families.

We work in partnership with our colleagues in health, social care and education.

Our aim is to improve the quality of lives of patients and their families during life shortening illness and bereavement.

Our services are available to those living in West Suffolk and Thetford and are provided by a skilled team of staff and volunteers.

We also welcome the opportunity to advise and guide professionals in supporting patients.
