Men that are disappointed that they can’t take part in St Nicholas Hospice Care’s Girls Night Out have now been given an opportunity to do their bit for the charity.
On July 8 the ‘Load of Pants’ five mile sponsored walk will take place in Nowton Park. This is a fundraising event, which just like Girl’s Night Out, focuses on having a good time.
Events and challenges fundraiser Jenny Baskett said: “We want men from the area to have as much fun as local women do fundraising for their local Hospice.”
As the name ‘Load of Pants’ suggests those men brave enough to tackle the five mile sponsored walk (with added surprises along the way) must have their pants on display. They can be worn over trousers or brightly coloured tights just like their favourite superhero.
Jenny Baskett said: “A male volunteer came up with the idea for this event and everyone is really looking forward to it. It would be lovely if sons, fathers and grandfathers signed up together so the fundraiser has a family feel to it.”
To take on the manly challenge of the Load of Pants walk you must be aged 12 and above, superheroes under the age of 17 will have to get permission from their parents. Entry to the walk will cost £15.
