What is in a name?

A band with no name performed its first live performance in front of more than 70 friends at Alpheton Village Hall on 13 April.

Unlucky For Some was one of many names suggested by the audience, which had been invited to help Tom Barber (vocals and guitar), Lilly Pawsey (bass and vocals) and Seth Bauly (drums) name their band, because they had spent hours thinking, but could not reach a unanimous decision on a name.

The three 12 and 13 year-olds began playing together six months ago but decided they needed a focal point and set a date for their first public show. A couple of months of practice, planning and polishing ensured a great performance and Friday night saw them take to the stage with confidence and talent.
Not only did they raise the roof but also more than £250 in aid of St Nicholas Hospice Care.

“I really enjoyed that,” said Tom after the show. “The nerves soon went when we heard the cheers and clapping after the first song. I can't wait to do it all again, but next time we'll have a name.”

The three of them are now considering the name they should adopt: Grumpy Trolls, The Acres, or The Banned were all suggested and are all in the frame, but it look likely they will perform their next show as The Undecided.

Help the band make a decision.
